The levels of food intolerance
and food allergy in the worlds population
today is a a matter of great debate, but it appears to
be on the increase and affects a high percentage.
The food stuffs we eat are becoming
more complex with us having wider diets and using pre-prepared
or processed meals more, to fit our busy lifestyles. The
high levels of ingredients, preservatives, colourings
and flavour enhancers that a lot of food contains
today can often have an effect on us. This can be from
serious reactions to smaller side effects on our health
- and these are not always bad - some can be good. |
As a general rule we all have a good idea of the things that
are good (eg green vegetables) and the things that are not so
good (A fried breakfast). However we all are unique and it is
useful to be able to take a closer look at the things we eat
more critically.
Common food intolerances nowadays are with lactose (the natural
sugar in dairy products), Gluten in wheat based products and
yeast.
It is common for a physician or doctor to ask their patient
to go on an exclusion diet (eg 'Lamb and Pear')
where they cut out all their food stuffs down to a minimal diet
of things least likely to cause an intolerance. Then by slowly
re-introducing foodstuffs back into the diet any culprits can
be identified when are used again. Also the patient may be asked
to keep a diary of their diet that helps the qualified practitioner
to assess their diet.
Lifestyle Toolbox can offer a far easier alternative without
changing your life or lifestyle. You don't have to go on an
exclusion diet. Using powerful computer algorithms it can analyse
your details at a level of detail only possible with a computer.
It will look at how many factors of how you felt on a daily
basis and then analyse the possible causes of any fluctuations
by looking at the frequency and levels of what you ate and did.
By a simple process of elimination, not re-introduction, it
can find that illusive culprit(s) substance(s) to which you
are intolerant.
